The Journey to Pawsitive Paws Resort: How It All Began
If you had told me a few years ago that I would be building a full-scale dog resort from the ground up, I probably would have smiled, shrugged, and said, “Maybe one day.” But life has a funny way of nudging you exactly where you’re meant to be—and for me, that journey started on the opposite side of the country.
Back in 2019 when I was living in California for work, my days were structured, but my evenings and weekends were wide open. I had more free time than I’d had in years, and instead of filling it with noise, I found myself gravitating toward something simple: walking dogs. What began as a way to unwind quickly transformed into a passion. Those walks—with the sunshine, the ocean air, and the pure joy of a dog trotting beside me—opened my eyes to how deeply I loved caring for animals. It was peaceful. It was grounding. And it felt right.
When I returned home, that spark didn’t fade—it grew. I began helping friends, neighbors, and anyone who needed a safe, loving place for their pup to stay. I dedicated one room in my home specifically for dogs, creating a cozy, calm, and comfortable space where they could relax and feel at ease. It wasn’t fancy; it was intentional. Every happy tail wag fueled me. Every returning client reminded me that there was a real need—and that I could fill it.
By 2025, something inside me shifted. I made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t just treat this as a hobby or a side project. I would build something big. Something meaningful. Something that dog owners could trust wholeheartedly—a place where pups are not just cared for, but celebrated. I started laying the groundwork: researching spaces, shaping a vision, forming the beginnings of Pawsitive Paws Resort, and imagining a resort that would raise the standard of what dog care could be.
And now, as we approach 2026, everything feels different—in the best way. This year will mark the start of something new, exciting, and truly special. Pawsitive Paws Resort is growing from a dream into a reality, from living-room dog beds to a dedicated, purpose-built space designed with safety, comfort, and joy at the forefront. Every step has been intentional, every challenge has been worth it, and every moment has been fueled by the love I have for the dogs and the people who trust me with them.
